Here%26#039;s the deal. I want to buy a domain name from godaddy. BUT, I already have my site up on freewebs. Is there a way I could buy the domain and still keep the freewebs host? I think this is called %26quot;redirection%26quot;. Could you help??
HELP! With domain names and hosting services?
Yes you can.
I checked the temrs of service, and FAQ from Frewebs, and you can point the domain name to your Freewebs site. If your registrar, like godaddy won%26#039;t allow this, than you can also transfer the doain to freewebs, and they will handle the pointer for you.
This being said, in my expereince this is a very bad idea for many reasons. If you want your own domain name, and want your website to be at that domain, then the best, and only proper way to do this, is to get a real, paid webhosting account, register the domain name, and tie it to that hosted account.
I read through their terms of service, privacy policy, and other legals, plus the premium upgrad stuff, and think you could get much more for your money by getting a traditional hosting account. Make sure to shop around before choosing

Of course! After you buy the domain name at godaddy you simply click on manage your domains and click the domain you want to change and set up a forward/redirect. You own the name and can redirect/forward it , it%26#039;s simple and takes 30 seconds!
I would recommend you don%26#039;t use a free host though. I use godaddy to register all my names and I use :

To Host all my sites.
Good Luck!
Other Replys:You can get quality hosting for around $4 a month so you may want to look into just getting a host and domain at the same place to make it easier. http://www.dakotawebhosting.com has domains for $1.99 when you get hosting which is like $4 a month.
